Our Chapter was organized in April 1965 by 18 charter members. In April 2003, the Merion-Dr.Rush Chapter merged with the Great Valley Chapter. Today, we have 167 members from Berks, Chester, Delaware, Franklin, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties as well as members in Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Austria. We strive to preserve the memory and honor of our Revolutionary ancestors who helped win our nation's independence.

We are a service organization dedicated to pursuing the objectives of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution ( NSDAR ) - Historic Preservation, Promotion of Education, and Patriotic Endeavor.

Any woman is eligible for membership who is not less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American Independence. For more information on eligibility, see the NSDAR web site and click on membership.

To get information about joining the Great Valley Chapter, please contact our registrar, Joan Russell.

Our Chapter sponsors the Signal Hill Society, Children of the American Revolution. Any boy or girl under the age of twenty-one is eligible for membership who can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who directly aided in the cause of American Independence. Additional information on eligibility can be found on the National Society Children of the American Revolution (N.S.C.A.R.) web site by clicking on Eligibility Requirements.
